Vaccination Program

Just been reading the latest news on the above. Interesting that although we both have had our 3rd jab of Oxford (AstraZenica) following the first two jabs of Sinovac, that process does not appear on the list of vaccinations.

Anyone know what we are supposed to do next with the 4th jab that we are all supposed to have? Will it be Sinovac OR Oxford Or Biontech OR Johnson & Johnson?

Interesting times indeed.

due to Delta, ALL booster jabs should be done with BionTech (or moderna).

unfortunately, it seems, they do not have Biontech for all.
so, they give to the "above 18" who received 2 x Sinovac a (plenty available) Sinovac booster.
this, most probably, will lead directly into the need to get a 4th jab.
this applies for you (2 x sinovac + AZ booster) as well.
you can see "the future" in column 7, at the moment for health workers only: 4th jab bioNtech and this available just after one month after the 3rd jab.

as far as i know, AZ is not available any more (as it was supplied from RoC).
Johnson (also supplied from RoC, but few wanted it) and Sinovac are offered to all unjabbed with "mRNA objections".

Are you saying that I should get a 4th jab of Biontech?
I have had 2 Sinovac and a booster of AZ 3 months ago.
Thanks.

We're the same as roman except our booster was 4 months ago.

the 2 sinovacs, developed for the "wuhan variant", basically "do not count"....
so, you got AZ and the second then should be Biontech, best earliest after approx 2 month.

kibsolar1999 - Not being "snotty" over this but is that your "Professional" opinion or have you obtained this from a recognised and qualified health care provider? I only ask because I have no real interest in growing a second nose or a third ear if I have the wrong Jab - lol.

https://www.kibrisgazetesi.com/kibris/s ... 21091.html

You tell me what we should do next because according to the process shown in the above - there is no mention of Sinovac + AZ. It now seems apparent that the 4th booster is available as well from the list of departments shown.

Biotech is available so do I have to go and get this as a 4th jab?

waddo. as many other millions as well, i followed the "history of vaccine recommondations".

forget about your 2 sinovacs. just ignore them.
you got one AZ and the second (here: 4th jab) will be biontech. many got this combination with results as good as 2 x mRNA. even a bit better.

13roman/waddo ... for a 4th jab (which is basically the 2nd... because, as i said.. forget abouzt the 2 sinovacs) , they offer biontech only. with good reasons.

Will wander down to the one of the places listed that give biontech and see what happens then, if still alive will report back - lol. Can't go till tomorrow so don't wait up.

We had Johnson and Johnson here as our booster which as a first dose in one only. So as we had Sinovac for our first two how does that leave us now?

I'll take it as the other two are going deaf anyway but only if it is on the back of my head so I can hear what people are saying about me - lol. Not that I care anyway, in fact I think it would be better on my forehead as who wants to listen to their own fa*ts anyway - lol. Take care out there people life is about having fun after all.

I had my second biontech booster today. You have to use a different door now at the general hospital round the side of the car park.

this depends to the vaccines given before. not for all "combinations" you have a choice.

Did you have to show flight tickets to get your 2nd booster. We have been trying but have been told they will only give 4th dose if you can prove that you have a flight booked?

Suat Gunsel gave my husband his 1st booster of Biontech, he had Johnson and Johnson in July. They confirmed that I would have to wait until January for my first booster as I only had my 2nd Astrazeneca in July.

Same here Deniz1. I watch all the hoops that people are jumping through and am grateful we are flying nowhere. However, I sincerely hope things have settled down by next July.

Just back from Suat Gunsel, waited in que for jab, went inside, chased back out and told to register first around the corner! Finally found the mystical corner and joined another que - waited 10 mins but no movement because nobody doing any registration yet 🥲 locals not happy 😃 gave up and now at Red Ribbon having breakfast 😂. Will try later - maybe!

Went back to try again after breakfast, bigger que’s, gave up and came home. Lack of administrative organisation has always been the downfall of places here but now it seems to have been changed into an art form - lol. Will try somewhere else next week.

What confuses me somewhat is the expression "you have a choice" I wouldn't have a clue about the relevant pros and cons of mixing vaccines. Do we stick a pin in a list or do we assume the everyone at the hospital know which to to give you.

We went to Suat Gunsel this morning for the booster jab and were in and out within 5 minutes. So impressed with the efficiency.

That is a very good point. Thing is even if you do your own research the difference of opinions of so called experts is huge and possibly changes as time goes on. So a difficult one to decide on really. For us needing to return to the UK at some point for a short while we will try and have one that is recognised there even if we aren't. I suppose if you were able to rule out problems with mixing them then any booster is better than no booster but even then where do you find out what will react badly with what if the Hospital have no idea?

cjtill, how long did it take you to complete the required registration before you were let into the place where you had your jab please? We waited and waited but never managed to get to the registration part as there was nobody there.

Were you in the right place? There used to be signs but they've removed them. We had same experience as cjtill, in and out very quickly, no queue to speak of.

As you drive around the back of SG hospital, just before the A&E ramp there are steps up to a passage going between 2 buildings leading to the central square. On the right hand side they administer antigen tests but slightly further on at the end of that block, turn right and then go through the door on RHS. Inside, first door on RHS, room 5001(?), is registration, next room on RHS, room 5002, is where the action is. Just ask at registration for your jab if choice. We went at 9am.

Thanks people, went to the right place but only a lot of very unhappy locals waiting there and nobody from the hospital there at all - probably timed it wrong and went during coffee hour when they all push off and just ignore people! You were right about no signs as well, none on any doors either.

Will go again on Monday as I suspect there will be more ques and less staff over the weekend - lol.

karmels, sorry to harp on, but if you were only there for five minutes, just how much of that five minutes was spent on deciding which vaccine you should have. None of this makes any sense to me at all.

BB you don't choose which vaccine you get, this is our 4 th jab two sinovac and two biotech so the whole operation took 5 minutes. Hope this gives you a answer.

bjb, harp away - if you had clicked on the link I posted above - seems like months ago now - just scroll down the article and it will show you which establishment has which vaccine available. To save you all that effort I have just done that and it appears you have a choice of a) Sinovac or b) biontech. The article also gives you a guide to what you should have dependent upon what you have already had - unless of course you are one of the unfortunates that had two chinese jabs followed by one Astrazenica, in that case the choice is yours - like us!

We will go for biontech as all the Astra was sent back because nobody wanted it. Additionally, lots of people wanted J&J and probably will want the same thing again so I think that will run out quite fast. I honestly think it is all a coin toss anyway and as I have so far had my left arm stuffed with two chinese and one Astra followed closely with one EU Flu, a biontech can only help to confuse the body enough so it will be immune to just about anything apart from cider - lol.

I didn't need to register as such. I just took my green vaccination card and they put details on the computer and gave me a slip of paper to say which jab I was to have. Went next door and it was done straight away. This was a booster jab. Was yours for a booster as well?

cjtill, Yes ours will be for the 4th jab or second booster or something like that - I have kind of lost the plot now and just go and accept what I am given - lol. We were sent to "Register" yesterday but as said before there was nobody working there, just a crown of locals moaning that there was nobody there. Breakfast at Red Ribbon was good as normal so nothing lost, will try again on Monday - after the rain has stopped. Have a good weekend and stay safe out there.

Having had my first vaccine doses outside of the TRNC (completed in May) I am now due boosters (in fact I had a phone call from my home country to go for a booster a couple of days ago but being now in the TRNC obviously I couldn’t go!).

So I will now go for a booster here.

But people are talking of 4th jabs which I haven’t seen mentioned in other countries.

Are these 4th jabs the second shot of a two-dose booster (just like the first round of most vaccines such as AZ and Moderna) or are they a further single dose booster (perhaps because the TRNC were administering the initial vaccines ahead of a lot of other places)?

Approved vaccines
You must have had a complete course of one of the following vaccines at least 14 days before you arrive in England:

Oxford/AstraZeneca
Pfizer BioNTech
Moderna
Janssen
Sinovac-CoronaVac
Sinopharm Beijing
Covaxin
The day you have your final dose does not count as one of the 14 days.

Formulations of these vaccines, such as AstraZeneca Covishield, AstraZeneca Vaxzevria and Moderna Takeda, also qualify as approved vaccines.
