Hi all, Anyone know how much Sterling I can take back to the uk in cash, I’ve been told 10,000 , and if that’s correct would that be per person or per family. We have a joint account.

Was $10,000 or equivalent out of Ercan or TRNC.

You can take as much as you want. There is no limit.

Just make sure you declare it and can prove its provenance.

If you take out the bank more than £10k the bank has to inform the government. Best to take out gradually. Not sure how it works in Uk

I've always understood its no more than 10,000 dollars, not pounds - but on another note why note send it from your account here to your account in the UK, I've done that a couple of times with no bother.

I understood it was no more than 10,000 Euros.

Correct. If crossing border to South, it states 10,000 Euros as max. Checked yesterday.

"Max" before you have to declare.

There is no maximum on what you can take - which was the original question.
