Those that have had approved vaccines can now have these added to their NHS app.

Not all vaccines administered here are accepted, however it appears that someone in the UK can attend the appointment on your behalf. You also require an NHS number.

Brilliant news, Just used the link to book appointment and the only option given meant a round trip of 200 miles!

Me to. Nearest option 40 miles away.

Me too, only my round trip is nearly 300 miles.... From Yorkshire to Cambridge FFS.... Not much use then.

Am I missing something? I have the NHS app and have looked to try and upload my COVID-19 vaccination certificate to it, but cannot work out how to.

My NIN has letters in it but when trying to enter only shows numbers no letters. Why is that if it is an official site

As I thought, it's only for England, so no use to me.

It's not the wow that I first thought, as an appointment has to be made in UK. Should have known it wouldn't be as simple as submitting online, even if I was English.

I guess they just want to verify the vaccines are genuine…

Thanks lJ. I appreciate the info, but am keeping my vaccine documents here with me. I don't know even if this can be done with NHS Scotland yet anyway. Had a quick look, but couldn't find anything relevant.

Tried all the post codes available to my friends and relations in the UK - came up with Peterborough, Ipswich, Cambridge and Norwich - all more than 90 miles away from my nearest contact. Wonderful idea but no use at all. Good luck if you know somebody who can live closer to those - lol.

Getting originals of documents to the UK would be a real testing moment when you think about Christmas mail as well. Bet they would have to be notarised if copy's and sealed with blood or signed as real by a Ships Captain or University Student - lol.

Wonder what happened to the great IT solutions that solved all these "Minor" problems and saved trees as well?

When we left UK we 'left' the NHS but I have a print out of my records, using my NHS number I was surprised that it didn't reject me, I guess if I managed to get an appointment it would happen then. The appointment locations are all SE England, there seem to be 5 choices, the ones Waddo mentioned plus London, very handy not.

I did get to book an appointment, just to see what happened next.

I received an email confirmation.

I also rang the Central London place to check what was required if someone else was taking the documents on my behalf. They explained the website is wrong and the person with the photo ID will be the only one dealt with. You cannot allow someone to go on your behalf.

I cancelled the appointment.

I will, over the next few weeks, get someone to visit the Central London and Cambridge centres to clarify the situation.

Thanks Butterfly, thought it would be too good to be true. I suppose I could still go, pay my hotel quarantine fee of £2285.00 then get my vaccinations onto the NHS so I would not have to pay next time? Let me see - NO! Never mind the UK needs the money to pay for Boris’s flat and the Christmas parties I guess - got to get it from somewhere!

This post is about an appointment to add foreign administered approved vaccines.

Maybe there will soon be the option to upload these directly to the app.

Your NHS number is not the same as your National Insurance Number.

Ah right, just for vaccines administered in Uk. Not to worry.

It's about registering acceptable vaccines administered outside ENGLAND, on the NHS app. At the moment it is to allow people to book an appointment in England, to show that they meet the criteria.

It has nothing to do with vaccines being administered in the UK.

You need your NHS number, not NI number.
