How MUCH Multimax?
Just noticed that one months internet at MM is now 400TL up from 240TL, seems a bit steep considering TL to pound is the same level as a month ago.

You and a few others no doubt including myself, every time I phone up with a problem its my fault,it does not mention that they cut off,or do repair on a base station etc its always down to the user.Ayzia net went down the same way,is there such a thing as good customer service in the TRNC ?

I must say that here in Çatalköy, I don't have any problems with Multimax and have been with them for years. They are always very helpful with any signal and speed issues that crop up very occasionally and as for the price increase to 400 tl, that's still less than a £ a day at today's rate?

Have you asked for a loyalty discount? I queried the price last time I renewed and was given a decent reduction.

I moved from MM to Nethouse over a year ago because of their price and have never regretted it. Their customer service is excellent. I have just renewed my contract and paid TL 1870 for 15 months of 15mb download. 12 months plus 3 months free. I thoroughly recommend them.

Multimax about the dearest provider with the worst customer service . Shop around the others available . Don’t forget the mobile phone providers good deals available for phone / internet packages .

490tl today is this for real?
I'd like some explanation for this crazy increase are they trying to go out of business?

Re: How MUCH Multimax?
If you opt for the top package which is Premium it is 490tl a month. Whether people want to pay that or go elsewhere is entirely their choice.
I renewed earlier this year and received a loyalty discount for being with them for three years but I cannot recall at the moment what I paid. As ever with any provider of any service their are always differing opinions. So just to add some balance here I have never had bad service from them in all the time I have been with them. If I have an issue I contact them either by email or WhasApp and it is sorted without any argument very quickly and that sometime includes sending an engineer.
If price were an issue I certainly would look elsewhere but for me reliability of service is important and that has not been an issue because any problems have been sorted quickly and without argument.

Re: How MUCH Multimax?
Just checked and I paid 2320TL in November for platinum 1 year, with loyalty discount applied, I can't remember what the price advertised was at the time. Always found better to phone them and pay to get discount, as you won't get that from paying through the website.

Re: How MUCH Multimax?
Not questioning the service I have always had their back on that but the price has doubled overnight, maybe prior to doing this they could have advised some of their longstanding customers to enquire if they should like to renew prior to the leap in price!
I have seen no notification of a doubling of the service.

Re: How MUCH Multimax?
The Huge price increase does not justify the speeds of the Internet available and they have speed restrictions once you go over a certain download limit.
Callouts and service are good , but if the slow internet speeds and issues were not there in the first place then there would be no need for customer service contact.
I for one will not be renewing my contract with them.

Re: How MUCH Multimax?
It is rather a hike, which was possibly put up when TL went into meltdown, however, it needs to come back down to reflect TL rates at present.
I did a historical check on what I paid and 2320TL would have been around £151 when I paid in November, now around £148. Paying full rate (without discount) 4900TL would be around £314.

I can remember 8 years ago one of my customers moaning because they were using up the 15 meg to quickly. So why is it now all saying there is no limit. I even asked and was told there was a limit. I had used mine doing large down loads. Think some of you got it wrong

Re: How MUCH Multimax?
If you read about Traffic Management it explains the restrictions. It also depends on which package you pay for. What happened 8 years ago bears no resemblance to today though.
https://www.mmcyp.com/en/traffic-management.php
As regards the price for the year it is 4900tl for the top package that at the rate now is £307.16. At the rate that it reached the other day which was above 24tl to the pound it was £204. It may well be that the price may come down again to reflect the exchange rate but the advertised price has not as yet. It is always worth asking before you decide to go elsewhere and then making a decision based on the answer.

I was lucky, mine was due for renewal on 30 December so to make sure I didn't forget and be without internet I renewed about 2 weeks ago and it was still at 2900 tl for the platinum package for the year I did not ask for loyalty discount as the TL rate was already flying

Let us not also forget that it wasn't that long ago that there was a fairly hefty price increase to the 240tl price range for platinum monthly!!

Re: How MUCH Multimax?
From what you put before you were saying it was one of your customers not someone who commented on here. In any event.
The fact that 8 years ago someone used whatever has no bearing on today because the amount of stuff available to download now is vastly different to then. There are more places to download from, better quality of streams and more people know about it so there is a greater strain on an already overworked system here.
As more and more people use the internet and more use it to download/watch the systems here have to be improved and to make it fair some people who use more than others have to have limits imposed. What limit you or your customer had 8 years ago has no bearing on the price of internet today nor the limits imposed. Everything has changed from the exchange rate to the cost of a provider actually providing.

Re: How MUCH Multimax?
If we put Foreign Currency conversions apart , the price hikes are quite substantial.
As always very quick to increase prices , but no sign of it coming down.
From 2900 TL in November to 4900 TL at present for the top package is a 70 % hike.
Furthermore they have traffic management restrictions in place.
Whilst some people don't mind a 70% hike, others probably do.

I can barely remember what happened yesterday let alone price increases with Multimax.techtrader wrote: ↑Tue 28 Dec 2021 3:27 pmLet us not also forget that it wasn't that long ago that there was a fairly hefty price increase to the 240tl price range for platinum monthly!!
Indeed it is a a hefty hike. If the price is left as is, am sure many will be turning elsewhere when renewal comes up.Saddique wrote: ↑Wed 29 Dec 2021 7:54 amIf we put Foreign Currency conversions apart , the price hikes are quite substantial.

Re: How MUCH Multimax?
Apparently Turkey have been told by the Govt to start to lowering their prices.
Monitoring this is extremely difficult for any Government but its a fair and just thing to do.
If commodity prices mirror FX rates when going up then they should do the same when FX rates go down.

Will price reductions happen at the same scale as it went up , i doubt it very much.

people are price sensitive and if you can get the same level of service or possibly better elsewhere for cheaper, then why wouldn't you?

Re: How MUCH Multimax?
I agree it is a huge rise and the only reason I can see for it being that huge is the exchange rate. So again I agree it needs to come back down.Saddique wrote: ↑Wed 29 Dec 2021 7:54 amIf we put Foreign Currency conversions apart , the price hikes are quite substantial.

I imagine a lot of providers have traffic management in place although it would seem from reading elsewhere they don't all declare it.
I renewed earlier this year and yes it was still more expensive than others but with the loyalty discount it was closer and I have had good service from them so far. If I were in the position of renewing now or in the near future I would certainly consider leaving to go elsewhere if the price did not go down. It is a choice we make but I always like to take everything into consideration. For my part Multimax get a lot of flack for being unreliable, rude and expensive and I have had no issue with them at all. I accepted the price quoted last time knowing full well there were cheaper alternatives but to me the quality of service and customer service were beyond reproach. When I am due to renew again I shall again take all aspects into consideration and make an informed decision then.

Re: How MUCH Multimax?
We have been with MM for approximately 8 years and have been satisfied with service and response to any issues we may have had. A couple of years ago we did complain about work carried out by MM and received a satisfactory outcome.
As “swallows” we are able to turn on/off our internet service each time we arrive or leave the island. This is very useful for us. Not sure if others offer similar.
However; when the our service comes up for renewal next year we will do as we always have and compare/check other suppliers, there internet packages, cost and of course customer service.
We will look at the MM package and whether they will offer any loyalty discount and then decide who will get our business.
Price is important of course but that is only one element that needs to be considered.
