Has anyone seen Cheshire Cheese or similar in the supermarkets??

Not sure about Cheshire but I find best place for cheeses is sah.

Sadly mrsgee, I was really disappointed re Sha and their selection of cheese just before Christmas They had about twenty variations of cheddar, with assorted fruits, peppers, spices, black, with cloves, Danish blue etc all in really small wedges Thankfully they also had really small round Camembert and Brie and one or two small wedges of flavoured Wensleydale. But no sign of the great selection they have had in the past. Maybe things will improve in 2022.

They had some nice smoked cheese and a very nice sage Derby, I do like the dolcelatte too which they often have.

Trouble is, I like to dig my cheese knife into a decent size portion, rather than piddly little portions. In other words, less flavours but decent chunks!! Once upon a time you could get Lancashire and other crumbly cheeses, but those days seem to have gone.

I had 2 wheels of Lancishire crumbly cheese brought over a couple of months back by family, I cut into pieces and frozen it, it loses a bit of flavor but it's better than not having it

I couldn't agree more. Tempo used to have a fairly decent cheese counter, but alas that is gone. Sah did at one point too, but it obviously wasn't popular as it didn't last long. Supreme and Erulku both have cheese counters, but been a while since I've been in either, so no idea of what they are like at the moment.
I would dearly love some Cambozola, but never seen it here. Settled for some Gorgonzola Dop instead, which is nothing like, but a change from the usual Danish Blue, which am not really a fan of.

Thanks for that, will have a look next time I venture down that way.

The problem with Cheshire Cheese is it does not travel well and therefore cheese shops don't like it. Best of luck trying to find it but I doubt you will in Cyprus.

Sadly, I think you are correct SPB. Although in the good old days of Orphan Annies down South, you could buy crumbly cheeses by the sack full.
