Can anyone tell me if the gas permits are available yet and if so the cost?
It’s normally available the first week in January but this year for some reason the powers that be haven’t decided on the cost.

We asked earlier in the week... not available yet, you would think they would be glad of the income same as residency which we have been waiting to pay for 3 months..... hey ho...

Can I ask what the permit is for? we are toying with having central heating installed and a gas tank outside. Is this what the permit is for? Any advice about this will be great.

Squeaker, the permit is for the large gas tanks, basically it gives permission for you to store that amount of gas on your property. The tank has to be a certain distance from the property and when you apply the first time they will arrange for a guy from the fire service to come and check the location. Also, you need a fire extinguisher. It applies to oil storage too I believe. It's not expensive for the permit.

Thankyou. We knew about the distance from the house, but didn't know you needed a permit. We'll have a think about it. The house is plumbed for heating, which is a help. We're not getting any younger and feeling the cold in the winter!

Has anyone paid?

Called last week on the number Mrsgee posted above and the lady said they were not available yet. I think that was Wednesday.

I suspect the business of tanks being a certain distance away from your property doesn't apply to everyone. About 50 yards away from my house I can see two gas tanks hard up against the property in question.

Spoke to the department today, and still not ready.
I was told that as there in no government, they do not know when the permits will be ready
Maybe 2023....

I should keep on saving up if I was you. They could just as easily back date the permits.
