Infested tree

Palm tree died after doing ok for 20 years. Eaten away by giant grubs. Anyone know about these pesky critters?

Maybe red palm weevil that were imported from Egypt when the then mayor decided to palm up Girne.

Red Palm Weevil. I treat my date palms every year and it appears the female is the worst affected.
