Hi. To try to settle an argument. Can anyone out there remember in the 60s buying suits from Jacksons the tailors and Burton Menswear and other shops. Where the pants legs were that tight they put zips in them. I am sure I had suits with zips on the legs. B.

If you remember the sixties... you weren't there. ((W\)) ((W\)) ((W\))

I bought my first suit, aged 15, made to measure, from Burton's in 1961. It was the Full Monty, Glen check, double breasted, cloth buttons, French seams, three quarter inch turnups with 18 inch bottoms but no zips other than where it mattered in an emergency.

If you Google "Teddy Boy" trousers, there are dozen of photographs and some of the trousers are certainly very slim, (some of course are not) but whether they had zips its difficult to see. BTW, this would be the 50's NOT the 60's.

All female zips aesthetically best left undone!
