The Council of Ministers has decided that the new action plan for the smooth operation of flights and airports will enter into force from February 21, instead of March 1 as initially announced.

Between February 21 and 28, which will be a transitional period, all passengers arriving in the Larnaca and Paphos airports will have to undergo a PCR test upon their arrival.

In statements after the Cabinet’s meeting, Transport Minister Yiannis Karousos said that after March 1, the mandatory PCR testing of passengers arriving in Cyprus will be abolished.

In addition, the Cabinet decided that the conditions applying for passengers who are not vaccinated nor have a valid vaccination or recovery certificate irrespective of nationality will apply to people aged 12 and over instead of six and over as previously announced.

I was reading that as good news - after 1st March no PCR test required to enter ROC? Have I misunderstood this?

Thanks

Thanks Wanderer - it was the “angry” emoji face from ginge that made me ask - this should have been a happy face!

Not a happy face as far as Ginge is concerned though. He's landing on 1st March, after midnight he would be OK.

I expect it will be from the start of March not midnight on the first. It is worth checking with the airline. It will be a translation thing as usual. Common sense suggests that it starts in March not the second day of March. |Although I realise that common sense is not something widely used these days.

Sorry for the confusion.

I'm arriving on 26th Feb. God knows why I put 1st March - wishful thinking I guess.

I will therefore still have to do a pre-flight PCR & one when I land.

It appears neither will be needed from 1st March if double vaxed.
