Yes... I know they have to make a bigger profit nowadays with increased costs .. however a beer cost 8. 5 TL in erderner is 30 TL in murfys in town. Next time I will check prices before a group of us decide to go for a session !!
That's a Mickey take in my book .

Yup, susiesusie but don't forget, we (or I assumer neither are you) are not locals!!! There will be people who rise to their defence, but a duck if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, is a duck) i.e. is Mickey taking!!

We and the rest of our party have been here for 18 years . Unfortunately we were invited to go there by a friend who has decided to join the fold . So he's choice of bar. I never checked th vprices before hand as expected 20/25 TL. Never dreamt of 30.
No football on a TV. Music was awful and toilets worse. .
Did not want to spoil anything for them by questioning prices or being awkward. So we did not . However .. never again

Well you have answered your own question by it in Edener and drink at home . Murfys rent is paid in sterlingtheir staff now get paid more than double , you know how much food items cost in supermarkets yourself. No I'm not a local but ran pubs for decades and as it was a business needed to make a profit a reasonable one. In future might I suggest you read the menu for prices before you go in and if the equivalent of around £2 is too much stay away . Mind you I do agree about the state of the place it's filthy. I think you can get good prices in Tesco' for beer but I doubt you'd get it in a small pub .

3 B's (burger, beer, bar) opposite Lemar, Girne; Efes, Becks, etc. 50cl still only 22Tl though sure to climb to 25Tl soon. So here is your cheap session beer swilling outlet! Food cheap & cheerful though not gourmet.

Oh well at least there is a currency depreciating faster than the tl ...the Russian ruble down 41% in early trade though I doubt many of us will be frequenting a Moscow bar anytime soon.....

The 25tl mark mentioned in Brinsley's post above is on a par (albeit in the UK) with 500ml tins of Efes Draught at £1.39 in B&M. Though as terry2366 said, you wouldn't get those prices in pubs, not even Spoons.
