Tried three different bankamatics for sterling each of the past two days, couldn't complete the transaction, tried another for TL same result.

Is it just me or are others having the same problems?

Hi, Just drawn 1000TL from ATM at Capital Bank (opposite Golden Lady) Alsancak. Wanted 2000, it rejected that, Haven't been able to draw £ anywhere.

Makes you wonder if there's a supply problem?

I drew sterling at Girne TEB ATM yesterday. I know that is not west side but just to say sterling is available.

Ooops,sorry, money drawn from Turk Bank not Capital bank in Alsancak .

Tried to get Sterling from my Garanti bank in town yesterday and would only let me have Lira or Dollars. Mind you, if you are dealing in Bit Coin, then every street corner has a Dealer.

Still nothing in the three I tried today.

I’ve just tried 4 machines in the Alsancak area, none have any GBP.
Why aren’t the machines being filled up? Anyone got any ideas?

When l need Sterling l walk into my bank (Türk Bankası), Alsancak branch, and ask for it. Never been refused. Never used an ATM to withdraw Sterling.

If you do not have a bank account here you could try the exchanges as they have card machines. It will cost you commission no doubt.

The only place I found this morning, was TEB in Girne.
