Keith, try looking in your local Lemar. There is a box for them in the one I use near Zeytinlik.

Tektan in Girne used to have a clear old batteries collection receptacle at the doorway.
Not noticed it recently but then again it might just be my lack of observation.

The electrical shop called Haypem Elektronik next to Hur Deniz the fish shop in Aksancak . Box is just inside their front door.
