We will be landing at 22:00 at larnaca on a Friday night, planning to hire a car in the south, we haven't been back since September 2019 so is the insurance kiosk still open till midnight? Also do you think I am cutting it fine?? I am guessing I can't come back next day to pay for insurance?

I think the Metehan insurance Booth closes at around Midnight ish........without TRNC insurance , you will have to leave your Hire car on the Greek side as its not allowed to be parked on the TRNC side.

From this point you will have to make arrangements for onward travel and collect the Hire car the following day.

The above is assuming you miss the Insurance Booth when you arrive.........if they are open then you have no issues.

Not sure if Rabiye still operates. She lives in "no mans land" at Beyamadu/Pile crossing. If you arrange insurance with her she will give docs to you just before you reach the crosspoint.

Her English is not that great, so best to call her, then text car details to her: car make, model, age, reg your Full name and driving licence number, date and time of crossing.

Thanks for the replies, does anyone know a hire company who will arrange the insurance?

Would it not be easier to hire a car in the North they usually pick you up from airport and drop your hire car at your property.
