Have changed my plans on moving to Cyprus. Want to try it for 3or 4 months first and then take decision for longer period.

If you come to stay for 90 days or more you will need to apply for residency and all that it entails.
I doubt that you will be able to get a decent rental at the monthly price you indicate for less than a years contract ,but good luck and welcome (for your future arrival)

You should try looking at www.HangiEv.com they they have a lot of apartments and houses to rent, in most locations. I'm sure you'll find one to your liking.

You will only get 30 days if you don't own a property ..

You mean a visa for only 30 days?! Hard to believe since in al most all countries its 3 months. Will enquire on this.

You can get a visa for up to 90 days but you would have to show your rental contract and/or return ticket.
Maybe even involve a trip to immigration.

Thks. Not surprised to read this. Showing contract and return ticket, no problem of course. But at arrival don t you get standard 90 days visa?

On arrival at immigration it is very likely that as you are not a property owner or have a rental contract you will initially only get 30 days as a tourist.

Once you can prove you have a rental contract and a return flight then you may get an extension to a maximum of 90 days. You will likely have to go to immigration offices in Lefkosa to get the extension. Anything over 90 days will require you to apply for residency.

Overstaying the initial 30 days or the extension to 90 days will mean a fine. The level of the fine is based on a daily rate x number of days you overstay.

Thks. At least i ll try to get that 90 days visa on arrival by showing contract copy and return ticket. Saves me a trip to Lefkosa which would not be a problem btw.
