Personally i don't have a problem with the parties that went on at no 10, but what i absolutely object to is being blatantly lied to about it with complete and utter contempt. I think this is the main reason the Torries got a hammering in the recent local elections.
We probably all know someone somewhere who flouted the rules thinking they only applied to other people. My next door neighbour for one, big time and on a regular basis, 5 households mixing to be precise. Then there's my sister-in-law, who on the basis that she and her household had just got over Covid, had her elderly and vulnerable parents round for dinner the first Christmas day. What's even more astounding about that is that my sister-in-law is a senior nurse of some description who was running the Red Covid Ward at our local hospital and has been in nursing since she left school - she's nearly 60 now - unbelievable!

Agree with you MnM . In the UK our
next door neighbours built a shed with a bar in the first lockdown they had friends some with children every Fri Sat Sun with as many as 12 people or more at any one time, a tv and music in the shed playing until after midnight, they were outside but at that time it was a rule not to meet.
The men didn’t go into the house to urinate the went across the road and urinated into the trees. 9 teenage boys had a party there one night they did the same.
They don’t believe in the vaccination and both of them and one teenage boy have had Covid.

I think the BBC have been on a witch hunt which only serves to show where their Labour leanings are. The fact that very little of real world importance has diverted their attention reeks of desperation... Surely there are more important things to report on and discuss?
Looking at the miserable photos of the 'riotous' assembly that Boris and Rishi are to be seen at, it seems to me a very muted affair at best If staff working on policy are in a bubble already, I don't see what's wrong with a social gathering.
I do agree that Boris, early doors, should have come clean and said "yeah, we had gatherings for my birthday and staff leaving dos, so what, we've got bigger fish to fry"

You All miss the point He lied to the commons, AND that is a big no no.

Do they not lie day after day in the commons first deny then later admit it.Rayner "was not there" "there was no meeting" then "there was no curry" I forgot and now today yes Ian was her. The biggest percentage lie to us when it suits them. Also now Hartman is picked for an investigation ,well at least she'll be impartial. The number of times she's lied to parliament.

After this boring the life out of people for months the most some naive people discovered is politicians are hypocrites.
Next week they will no doubt come up with an expose that the money left under your pillow when you was a kid for a tooth actually was left there by one of your parents. What do we think it will be called, toothgate?

tutor4u, the point is he lied to everybody, he has done so throughout his career in public service and yet people still believe him. Would you buy a used car from this man? Probably not, so why vote for him or any of his schemes?
He is the same as MP's all over the World, who are only truly interested in keeping their seats and pay packets, anything goes and it always is somebody else's fault when things go wrong.

At least in some countries they have the decency to resign when they’ve allegedly broken the Covid restrictions. Even though a subsequent court case found that they hadn’t broken any.
Including a European Commissioner.

You know I like old fashioned words to decribe people or things for example:- Libertine A libertine is a person devoid of most moral principles, a sense of responsibility, or sexual restraints, which are seen as unnecessary or undesirable, especially someone who ignores or even spurns accepted morals and forms of behaviour sanctified by the larger society. Our choice was Johnson or Corbyn. The British people will never vote a Marxist in no matter how you package him.
Yes vote Johnson out by all means, that’s democracy. Gutting about needing voter ID eh?

How about - Boris, the devious libertine - I think that “Devious” (Showing a skillful use of underhand tactics to achieve goals) truly compliments “Libertine” and provides a more complete description?
