Mosquitoes

There seems to be millions mosquitoes flying around inside and outside the house as soon as the sun goes down! I have two small dogs, what's the best protection for them?? They have their flea and worm tablets, but what about protection from mosquitoes? Had the special collars from the vet last year that lasts 2 or 3 months, but towards the end, it started to irritate the skin under the collar, so it's probably the chemicals in the collar. So looking for maybe something more natural. Any ideas anyone??

Find the source! There must be stagnant/standing water in the area. Speak to the Belediye... Probably an uncared for pool.
Mozzies don't like the scent of fire. So collect coffee grounds, dry them in the sun, then before lighting, dose them with a small amount of Saf Ispirto to help ignite them in suitable fireproof tin or jar. They will smoulder for ages.
Ask a coffee house for some grounds if you don't have any..
Obviously be very careful, place the receptacle on a heat proof surface like a hob.

All supermarkets sell it, it's pure rubbing alcohol, good for all sorts of jobs like removing sticky residue after labels have been taken off etc.
But be warned it is poisonous wood alcohol called methanol not ethanol and should never be ingested.
Because it's over 90% pure alcohol it is highly flammable...

I use ground coffee for burning. If used coffee grounds, I use part of a fire lighter. Fresh dried coffee grounds don't need anything.

the accelerant is merely to aid lighting.

Yes I realise that, which is why I gave fire lighters as an alternative.

Personally, I don't like the smell of firelighters...

Not too keen myself Groucho, but rather that than mozzies. Will have a look for that Saf Ispirito.

All supermarkets sell, it's colloquially known as 'match' because it's often used as an accelerant.
It's toxic alcohol and often to be found with other forms of alcohol even though it's not safe to consume. I once caught a lady in Supreme proudly announcing that she used it to make Limoncello, I tried to tell her it's methanol (alcohol produced industrially by hydrogenation of carbon monoxide and often here distilled from wood) but she was having none of it and insisted on continuing to drink it... She's probably long gone.

Thanks Groucho, would never have thought to look in the alcohol section. It's a bit dangerous placing it there, thought it might have been with bbq stuff.
Sounds very rough stuff, promise I will not be drinking it, I rarely drink spirits as it is. Can't believe that anyone would make limoncello with it!
