Hi is there Pet Insurance here in the TRNC and if so does anybody have any information in respect of this ie cost/cover or is it just a case of pay as and when required?

Thank you in advance!

Dog health insurance is (was?) available through Türk Bankası.

The dog will need to be chipped with chip info recorded on the policy.

Yes Türk Bankası do pet insurance, probably limited to dogs and cats I think. But, it is only for emergency treatment, not for ongoing medical issues.
Having said that their list of what is covered is quite comprehensive and the cost was reasonable. Well, it was last year, haven't renewed my two dogs' policies this year yet, but I will.
I think you have to go to the Türk Bankası branch in Girne, near The George, and there is a British lady there who deals with pet insurance. She was there last year, who knows this year! Her name is Sarah Eyton Jones, phone 548 883 3650.

It was only after l had our cat micro chipped did l find out the pet insurance was limited to dogs. May have expanded the service to other pet species now, l don’t know.

Personally I would not have thought pet insurance was necessary here. Vet treatment is so reasonable in price here.

Agree sammydavis. Compared to UK, really, really very reasonable indeed.

Start Pet Insurance and Vet bills will go through the roof as they did in the UK.

Please don't encourage Vets to look towards UK for their price structures!!
