For some reason that I don't understand, the above has started to put a block on a number of contacts, for no reason whatsoever. Its also started to inform contacts that I'm now on Whatsapp, whereas I've been with W.A almost from its inception. Any help out there would be appreciated.

I don't have any definitive answer for you but usually when an App starts misbehaving itself, it's worth spending a few minutes completely uninstalling it, by going through Settings and then selecting Apps etc and then reinstalling it.

That may clear the issue for you. If not, perhaps try finding a WhatsApp forum community on the web and post on there?

Thanks Satranc. Just a further question. If I were to uninstall/reinstall WhatsApp and it's on three other devices, will they all disappear together with pics?

It shouldn't have any impact on your other devices. Others please feel free to interject here.

You aren't deleting your account afterall, merely deleting an App from one particular device but I stand to be corrected!
