Thank you for accepting me to the group.

Looking for help please. We want to travel to TRNC in the autumn with our UK registered car from Turkey. We would travel around a bit and then return to the UK for the winter. The question is can we legally leave our car in N.Cyprus, and for how long, when we return to the UK. We would leave it in a long stay car park or in a friends garage. We would then return in the spring (6 months later) and carry on with our travels.

So the question is, is it the person or the car that is restricted - or is it both? Finding it very difficult to find official information on this subject.

However if you are just driving it in TRNC as holiday makers then i think you still need to follow certain rules similar to importing .
You will need a yellow form from the customs as upon entry the car usually gets 30 days permission its like a visa for the car, but if you are going to leave it and then come back to the car then you would need to extend the 30 day grace period and then they will allow you to drive upto a year. Then you must take the car back or prepare for import. Make sure you tax your car in the UK for a longer period as often permission is granted upto the UK tax end date.

Thank you for your reply. We will be classed as holiday makers we just want to leave the car for an extended period and then pick it up in the spring.
