How do i insert a link into a topic

Can anyone help a dinosaur to insert a link into a new topic i want to post?

Type your message as normal, then look under the box where you typed your message, the word attachment is there, click on that. I think that is right but may be corrected?

No, the "Attachment" button is how files (such as a pdf, xls, jpg etc) can be added for others to view/download. To insert a link, the easiest way is to first copy the web address (URL) that you want from the address bar; then on the post reply full editor and preview box, click on the (chain) link button at the top - this will produce -
[url][url]
with a flashing cursor in the middle - without moving the cursor, just insert (Ctrl+V) your copied URL......
Preview and you will see an active web address!

Just pasting link into you posting should work just fine.
Just like this:

Press keys Ctrl + C to copy then Ctrl + V to paste in to message

Do the new members can insert a link? I usually join different forums to get useful information. And it is very disappointing if the links I find useful are removed from someone's threads. Or my links turn out to be trash ((((
One day I tried to discuss booking services and links were mistaken for being spam or something like that. I thought I inserted it correctly. For example
https://www.cyprusvillas.com/ or
recommendations I couldn't insert it to that thread
