Why do I have to login every time I want to use the site.

There is an option to tick on the log in pop-up window to "Log me in automatically each visit". It's never worked for me but my Username and Password are always there ready. If you have to enter these each time as well as click log in then your passwords are emptying each time you close your browser or clear your history / cache etc.
