treatment for herniated discs

Hi there,

I have a herniated disc and have suffered with this for a very long time. I was quoted seven thousand pounds to go to Turkey and have an operation, cash that I do not have.
Checking it out online I've seen that epidural steroid injections can be used. Can I ask if anyone has had these injections, and if done over here, the approximate cost please.
Failing that strong painkillers that could be taken. Ive used tramadol to no effect, as well as muscle relaxants etc.
Any constructive advice would be appreciated.

Both my brother and I were treated by Dr Can Çobanoğlu in Lefkoşa after my brother was told he had to go to Turkey for an op. Neither of us ended up having surgery or steroid injections, though I'm sure that's available if you want. We had 12 sessions of therapy, tens, laser, etc. That was in 2008 and although we've had a few niggles since, it was very effective. We have recommended friends and family to him and as far as I know, he's been able to help them all.
Contact details can be found here https://g.co/kgs/SWE2d8
He has a morning walk-in clinic but you need to be there by 8am if you want to be seen, he's very popular, he normally starts around 10am but has an air conditioned waiting room.

wow thank you so much come-on-aylin, that is very very useful information, if this can be sorted out without surgery or injections that is such a bonus; I've suffered for so many years with this that I thought I would be unable to walk any distance - once again thank you so much, I'll let you know how it goes.

I was seeing Erhart the German osteopath in Ozankoy but he couldn't help so referred me to Dr Can. At the same time my brother had been to see a doctor in Girne for the same problem who told him he needed an op in Turkey. He came along with me to get a second opinion, saved him a lot of money. I've found over the years that getting a second opinion has saved me and my family a lot of unnecessary, expensive procedures.

Dr Can has helped me a lot with back problems also.
I always made an appointment in the afternoon, as the walk in clinic is usually and understandably very busy.

Thank you all so much for your help. At the time I saw the specialist I was shocked at how quickly he had me on the plane and in Turkey!!! Until he found out I couldn't pay the seven thousand pounds. I thought I would be putting up with this pain for life, but now I have other options, I am so grateful, thank you all. :x))
