I've wondered what would happen if I was to lose or break mine and thought they were programmed to your own firestick. Is that not the case?

You can add new controllers in the settings.

If you have a smartphone you can add an app to use the phone as a controller. Handy until you find a replacement.

Try Tekten, they got me a remote for my MAG box, they may have something that would work.
