Do you mean Britishowned organisations officially and legally registered with the TRNC?

If so could you be a little more specific and say why you are asking.

I have had bad experiences with two such companies.. One is probably irrelevant since I understand it is no longer operating (for rather sad and totally unrelated reasons). I dont want to name, or go public about , the other at this point in time, but would have to advise extreme caution if asked a specific question by anyone considering dealing with them. Bear in mind that even if British owned if they operate in the TRNC they are subject to the TRNC Law and (rightly or wrongly and for whatever reasons) this does not provide the consumer safeguards that have developed in the UK/EU over the last decades.

Are we to undewrstand that you are looking for work? And that you want to work for a specificlaly British company? and might we ask why? Is it because you think you would not need a work permit, or what? Or do you want to work from home, and work via the internet? I am sure if you were a bit more specific, someone could help you more.

Maggie; But why an English company? Sorry I dont want to be too critical or depressing, but you are obviously not a native English speaker - there are at least eight rather basic mistakes in your last email and English companies do NOT have advantages here (apart from a more lax legal system if they are not too ethical) in fact they are probably disadvantaged. And as far as I know - at least in the North - they are small companies based here, NOT part of a British based organisation so they would not offer chances of a transfer to the UK

Sorry for mistakes...Yes I am not native speaker but trying to learn more properly this language I like UK and English so much, love to communicate with different people so wanted to find job which is connecting with this sphere so it will be practice for me as well. So in Cyprus no chance you think?

Rambling rose has a point Maggie. It would appear that you are not a British national (although i could of course be wrong) and you might find that your knowledge of English could let you down when it came to fighting off the competition for a job with an English company. You say you speak other languages - might not one of those be a better one in which you should search for an occupation.

Maybe there is a niche here, but RR is correct in that there are no large companies emanating from U.K. The closest would be something like HSBC. And if you were hoping to use a job as a means of getting to go to U.K, I am not sure that any companies exist.

I hope that I do not sound too pessimistic but more realistic and to encourage you to perhaps broaden your job expectation horizons. after all, I strongly suspect that were there companies of the like you see, then people such as I would be queuing up for interviews!

But I do wish you well and good luck. there just might be what you seek under a 'stone' somewhere.

I wonder if any other Kibkomer has any idea as to where you could search.

Thank you for positive replying) I took note all what you said. But I think nothing is impossible. I will continue to learn English and maybe one day I ll speak fluently as you) If no chance in Cyprus maybe should move to UK for practice and experience?

I admire your thinking Maggie. think positively, and yes, miracles do happen. (I think i am still waiting for mine).

going to U.K might improve your English - depends whereyou go and with whom you converse - but it will cost you money to live. so you would need a job! so a bit of a circular problem.

Keep exploring for opportunities and somewhere somehow is the answer, but maybe in the mean time you need a job to give you money to pay for any further education you may need.

as I say - Good Luck.

Hi Maggie 2012,
you need to look on the job section on this forum. There is exactly the job you want advertised under the name Midas. Telephone brokering Service. It is based in Karsiyaka.

You say you are good with working with children. Does tht mean you are also looking for a teaching job and if so, one of the so called English schools here in the TRNC? Please don't be mislead by the names given to schools and hospitals, they are still TRNC or Turkish owned, despite the names given to these organisations.

Yes I meant teaching also. I am realize that most of organizations still belong to TRNC. At the moment I am livng in Cyprus so I would like to work in any English company, but I did realise that there is no a big or even any choice for me. In front of me is a choice: stay in Cyprus and work but not in (TRNC organization)or move to England,so I was looking for an English company.

Maggie: It is difficult to judge just how good your English is from emails, and particularly how well you speak it. But it is good enough to get fluent if as you say you can get practice and experience Do you speak Turkish ? (or Greek as you mentioned the South in an earlier email). Provided you can get a Work Permit (and that is not easy or cheap) there are Turkish Cypriot companies that provide services for the British Community in North Cyprus and need English speakers.

Meanwhile try to read as much as you can in English and listen to radio/tapes etc to get the "rhythm" of the language - but make sure they are in good English.

Can you afford to work a few hours a week without pay, Maggie? Maybe if you volunteered for one of the mainly English run charities you would meet English people and get some practice in speaking it?
