Leave the clock alone

Due to the rise in the electric and lack of why not instead of putting this rediculus idea out of date idea on hold. Yesterday we had a seven hour power cut. So on Sunday we are going to put the silly clock back an hour so we can use more putting lights and heaters on earlier. Its crazy. They said this morning on tv we must do everything we can to stop the co2 levels and now they want us to use more. Is this crazy or is it just me. You would think that someone would bring this up in the government statements . Surely someone can see this makes sense. Crazy world not using there opportunity but burning them.

+1. I undersand the reasons it all started, but as you said Gates, they are out of date. Just put the clocks back half hour to get the best of both worlds all throughout the year and leave alone.

With only around 10 hours of daylight during the winter months. I dont think it makes any difference as to whether the clocks go back or not. with GMT we will be getting up in the morning in daylight and putting lights on at around 4-30pm. If the clocks are left alone we would be getting up in the dark so needing to put the lights on an hour before we do now and not putting them on at night until around 5-30pm. Swings and roundabouts surely?

No how many people get up before 6 it’s light then but how many people are still up at 6pm its double or more. It just does not make sense having power cuts to save electricity then putting the clocks back to use more. Absolutely stupid

If you naturally wake up at 5 then you will wake up at 4 . We had a 1 hour power outage in morning and 4 hours in the evening. On Sunday if we have a power cut at 5 we be sitting in the dark instead of the day lights. It is so stupid. Why are we having these power cuts, is it because they can’t generate enough power for what we have. What is going to happen when all the heaters go on and the other 1000 units are built

The only excercise I get twice a year is to change the dials on my 200 or so tall case clocks, now Mr Gates wants to deprive an old man of any form of recreational excercise, shame on you!!

I might have known that you'd have a dog in the race!

You could always put them forward give us less power cuts

I loved it when the clocks stayed put. I felt human! No getting up early to ensure I was using the daylight hours to my benefit. It's bad enough in June July August when I resort back to shears and secateurs to ensure I don't wake neighbours while keeping the gardens tidy and watered before the sun comes up and it's too hot to work. Personally they should go forward 2 hours for these months

Apparently the true time is as it is now. it is the spring alteration which is wrong.

Yes but more senseble than this. It was a gorgeous day on Sunday but had to end an hour early. Lights on at 5 when could have left till 6 if not for this ridiculous stupid putting the clocks back. Hope you all enjoy paying the extra to the electric

Hi, not absolutely sure what you're asking, but we stay 2 hours ahead of the UK...

Just querying. On one of my devices it says in brackets on the world clock section (plus 1 for GMT). Doesn't the rest of the world base their time on GMT, something to do with times on old ships or something. It's one hell of a long time since I did any geography. PS: for some reason my tablet suddenly says we live within the Australian time zone.

Well I don't know what choices were made when the clock on that device was set up, but GMT +1 as a time zone would be Western Europe - France for instance.
We are in the GMT +2 time zone (EST) - Athens etc.
Some Media/TV providers require the time on your device to match the time where they are situated.
As long as everything is working OK, leave well alone!
