Revolut bank account

Hi - looking for some advise please.
Currently we have 1 Revolut standard card - this we use to pay for goods/shopping etc here. It really works well for us.
Have been thinking about opening a Revolut bank account BUT can anyone please explain (in idiots guide !!!) if it works the same as a UK regular high street bank account. Do we get a sort code /account number/IBAN etc - can we make bank transfers from it to our bank over here and the UK ? Is money protected ?
Does Caxton work in the same way ?
Any advise/experiences ?
Thanks

I've just recently got a standard card; I do have a sort code /account number (IBAN I don't know, have not check details) and can (have done) transfer of UKGP from my Halifax current account to Revolut account. I've then paid (in UK) online (via Paypoint) to Kibtek an amount of TLira which automatically converted from my GBP in my Revolut account - no problems!
Account number and sort code was accessible via my phone app.

Revolut is not a bank in UK, and is not covered by FSCS. Have a look at info on link. https://blog.revolut.com/how-we-keep-your-money-safe/

I use Revolut card here all the time, and it's been great. I've only transferred from UK bank to it to top up funds, never the other way round, or to my bank here, but believe it can be done. I've got two standard cards, just in case one gets eaten at an ATM

I've just brought Chase bank card back from UK and that works great here too, plus you get 1% cashback on purchases, and there is a linked savings account if you wish. I find it useful to have a back up or two, as a couple of times Revolut card has not worked for whatever reason.

Starling is another decent card to use here. https://www.starlingbank.com/
