Praise where praise is due!! Aydinlik Soba in Gonyeli.... just had woodburner bought there and installed by their workmen. Absolutely wonderful work which involved cutting out some of back chimney to fit flue. Friendly, super efficient workmen and left it all clean and tidy.

Thanks for that info, we were in there a few days ago looking at their burners for our new house, it's good to be able to compare as we have used Adilar in Girne before for our burners

Who are Aydinlik and Adilar, and what are there actual locations?

Or are you both referring to AKINLAR here in Girne?

You're welcome Keith. I've seen them advertise on FB and the prices do seem good. It's nice to have a recommendation from sammydavis.

As for Adilar.....no idea!

We used Aydınlı Soba last winter to install a wood burner and have recommended them to neighbours; we have all been very happy with them.

I thought that I had already posted this link to their web page, but I see that I didn't!

You will need to check that Google translate has done its job in order to read it...

IMHO a wood burner needs to have cast iron sides as well as top and front.

Cheaper “cast iron” wood burners tend to have what l would describe as almost tin sides. They can look rock solid top and front, which can be very deceiving.

Caveat emptor.

Fair comment and good advice about quality of sides etc but Aydinler of gonyeli stoves are same quality as Girne firm but cheaper.
