Does anyone know how long in advance can you apply for renewing your driving licence

I did mine about a week before. Still waiting for the actual license . (7 weeks)

Can you please tell me if the application is still the same as five years ago ie form from the tax office and pay there (Girne) or is there now an on-line option?

I renewed my licence in November at tax office. Filled in form and had to give my licence as well. They gave me a note to show police in case i got stopped. Kept going to office after 4 weeks. In total it took 7 weeks.
