My daughter.

I have to say how proud I am of my daughter. I will probably get some flak but here goes. She has MS so struggles to get about sometimes especially in the UK at the moment with snow and ice.She has been out of work for three months but still goes up to London for agency interviews.Yesterday she saw a homeless man and his dog who she often sees at one of the stations and she has bought him a sandwich and some dog biscuits in the past. Yesterday he was so cold she didnt have a lot of money but bought him a hot drink then after talking she managed to get him a B&B for the night and paid with the last of her cash. She said the shelters dont want to take him because of the dog who has been with him for 15yrs.God bless you my girl I hope your interview for a job on Monday is successful.

I certainly hope you don't get any flak Deniz 1.....what a lovely story and you must be very proud of your daughter.

I'm a believer in helping people less fortune because at the end of the day it could be any one of us in a similiar situation.

Having worked night duties in a police station, I came into contact with many homeless people etc who would regularly pop in for no reason at all other than for a chat and plus they knew I would always make them a hot drink and give them 5 minutes of my time to chat to them.

A little human kindness goes a long way in this sad world.

Good luck to your daughter in her job hunt.

Thank you for sharing your pride Deniz.
Hat's off to your daughter,
Isn't it a shame that newspapers don't print this kind of story?

If this comes up twice, my apologies. I replied about 10 minutes ago, and my message must have gone into cyberspace.

The Sun took great delight in publishing a story last week about the amount of money an immigrant gets per week so its not worth her while to get a job. My daughter signed up for JSA reluctantly as she has never needed help before always been in work she gets £118 for two weeks plus her NI contribution. Makes you wonder doesnt it?

You can take a lot of the credit for this lovely girl, you raised her, you taught her what was important, you taught her compassion for those less fortunate than herself. You should both be proud and we are humbled to read this heartwarming story.

I truly hope and wish a good job will come her way. She deserves it. I hope her life has lots of good things coming her way. God Bless You Both.

There isn't many things in this life that truly moves me but your daughter does, its people like your daughter who deserve recognition for what they do but sadly she does these things without fanfare. Her only thought is for this poor unfortunate mans plight, truly a kind wonderful human being she surely is one of these

Deniz, your post brought a lump to my throat. How lovely to read of something with such care and compassion involved. Such empathy for the man and his dog. Reminds me of the Good Samaritan in the Bible! I'm sure fate will reward her kindness in its own way.

Congratulations to your daughter, Deniz, not only in finding a job but also for her kindness and compassion to someone in need, and for helping that person also care for his dog. There truly are some lovely people in the world, pity newspapers don't have a "good news" page or even <gasp> pages!

No we had planned to but some friends took us out somewhere else. We went there on the Friday after. She loved it and wrote a review for a food blog that she does also she sent a write up to a travel site. I tease her about being a second Nigella Lawson as she looks a bit like her and is always cooking and tweaking recipes.
