Hi All,
Considering relocating to the TRNC from UK full time and want to know how easy it is to find employment as a non Turkish speaker. Would be based in the Girne area but happy to commute if needed. Qualifications in teaching and GCSE levels. Can use PC and have driving licence.
Thanks,

Schools, universities do employ non speaking turkish people but remember it's only a 9 month year especially when salary is discussed.
Other employment is harder to find with a work permit.

Good luck

It would actually be a 12 or 24-month contract, but one wonders what the original poster means by "qualifications in teaching and GCSE levels" ... ie. no mention of even A' levels, let alone a degree and/or a PGCE.

In theory you'll get a contract, in practice you may not and if there is a contract there's no guarantee of it running it's course. You'll be restricted to private schools and universities, hours can be long. I'm speaking from experience, feel free to pm me if you want advice.

You can find work but it's not like the UK, often 5 1/2 days a week and min wage is currently the equivalent of £486 per month. You'll also need an employer that will give you a work permit. If you are on Facebook take a look at TRNC jobs for English Speakers
