This adverising "scandal" is the subject of many conversations amongst our TC friends
As part of the Ministry of Tourism's promotional campaign, in this case to the mainland market, they have produced posters, apparently at great cost, as seen in the attachment below, where they would seem to tell people in big lettering "North Cyprus, get far away from it". Yes, in much smaller lettering, between "Kuzey Kıbrıs" and "uzaklaşın" they write "şehrin gürültüsünden" (ie. "from the noise of the city". So, the intention is to say "North Cyprus, Escape from the Noise of the City". But this is definitely not what one sees at first glance
Maybe though, it is a ploy to get people talking about the slogan ... and then talking about Cyprus ... maybe not a clever move though - mainlanders, particularly those in the big cities, already make fun of the Turkish Cypriot accent, this could lead to more jokes about TCs

What Turkish Cypriots? I thought they had all been displaced by mainlanders!??
