Just wondering if any of you have called in yet?

We called in at lunch time today. Prices are very reasonable for a hotel. 55tl big bottle of Efes 50tl for pint on draft.

Fish n chips 180tl , spaghetti bolognaise 140tl etc.

It’s part of the new MC Palace hotel so very posh inside. They also have a new coffee shop / patteserie which looked nice.

Just glad to have somewhere else to have a meal and a few drinks. Not exactly spoilt for choices these days.

We find that to be quite a common problem here in Cyprus, i.e. cakes can look fantastic but often taste of very little... I don't really eat cakes on a regular basis and this helps to put me off. I'm fat enough without eating cakes... (8))

Also the very limited amount of “entertainment” around these days means we’re great full to have another option on our doorstep. Gonna give it a try this Saturday :x)) :x))

Both Guinness and Murphys are sold. 80Tl.

Large Efes 55Tl.

Large selection of beers, spirits and wine.

Food menu looked good. They do breakfasts as well.

Enjoyed a coffee in the cafe, strolled around to the Irish Bar and wandered around the ground floor. Nicely furnished hotel, staff we spoke to were welcoming and polite.

Very quiet with few guests but hopefully numbers will pick up as summer arrives.

Went last night ( Saturday) there was a good crowd in there. Made up of locals and hotel guests. The entertainment was very good a mix of Turkish and British music.
The food was again fantastic and the drinks very good. Prices very reasonable for the great standard.

Is this the MC Palace hotel you refer to as the Green Mile Irish Pub. It’s opposite or near the Food Lodge.
If so I have never heard it referred to as such.

"The entertainment was very good a mix of Turkish and British music."

I would have thought that 'diddly diddly' music would be more appropriate and in keeping!

Spelling Guinness properly would probably make your point a little more authentic.

Went yesterday 4 of us at 5pm .nowhere to park, so parked next door at the vets. Staff said car park full. Went inside expecting to be busy. No customers inside. Asked is bar open as no lights on. Told not till 6 .OK can we see a menu. Told you have to scan it on your mobile. Sorry but whenever I go out for a meal, I like to have a conversation with my friends, so leave my mobile at home. Very nice place but we left and went to Sultan's.

Went last night for a meal at 7 pm. We were the only ones there but the service was appalling. It took ages to get a drink and then they were bringing mains with starters and taking plates away while other members of the party were still eating. The food was good but could have been hotter. They definitely need some training on service.

Called last week,6 of us, one person serving a small group at the bar, looked for a table for 6, could not find one, stood around waiting for 5 minutes, no one came, walked out and went elsewhere, we will not be going back anytime soon.
