Coat repair

Can you advise please?

I have a favourite coat where the inside lining has parted from the external fabric. (A hazard of this climate.)

I am hoping to marry together the lining with the inside of the coat material. Sewing is not an option, so i was thinking of using double sided adhesive tape and joining the two sides together.

Is this a possibility / good idea (not being a dress maker) and if so where can I obtain such tape.
Any advice welcome.
