Re: Girne Council Tax
As a "swallow" I have found that my previous beledyesi (Lapta) is now the new Lapta/Alsanack/Camlibel Belediyesi; when I went to paid a (new) bill and asked if I could (still) pay on payline, I was told that previous links/data/etc had not/could not be updated, and therefore must pay in person....
Hopefully, this will be sorted out; in the meantime, I've paid a few months' advance to cover until my visit next time...

I have been paying mine and several friends' Lapta/Karsiyaka monthly and annual property tax bills online at Paypoint Cyprus since the switch over. The account numbers haven't changed.jofra wrote: ↑Sat 13 May 2023 8:19 pmAs a "swallow" I have found that my previous beledyesi (Lapta) is now the new Lapta/Alsanack/Camlibel Belediyesi; when I went to paid a (new) bill and asked if I could (still) pay on payline, I was told that previous links/data/etc had not/could not be updated, and therefore must pay in person....

All of ours still had the same TLAXXXXXX numbers this year. I paid ours in March on Paypoint so maybe it has changed since?Charlotte55 wrote: ↑Sun 14 May 2023 12:46 pmThanks very much for replies it was the numbers that had changed again that was the problem it used to have 3 letters in front but now just numbers

Re: Girne Council Tax
Both were paid using the appropriate TLAxxxxxx or xxxxxxxxxxx (11 digit) number - having NOT using any water until this month, I do expect the amount to now rise..
On my long-anticipated arrival four weeks ago, I've found two statements/bills (one shown) showing "just a little bit more" outstanding, so I've been to the beledyesi head officein Lapta and paid. and paid some more to stay in credit until our next visit.
However, as per my previous post, when I asked whether all the other items (eg "Diger Borç) could be paid online, I was told that previous links/data/etc relating to the old individual belediyesis had not/could not be updated, and therefore must pay in person....
Perhaps we've NEVER been able pay other than emlak, water and bin collection? I don't know.
......COMPUTER SAY NO........
J&J - I think I'm not far from you; you provided very helpful info and updates several years ago when our site was created up near the main road...

The option for Water/Su on Paypoint includes everything owing on the paper bill.jofra wrote: ↑Mon 15 May 2023 8:14 pmHowever, as per my previous post, when I asked whether all the other items (eg "Diger Borç) could be paid online, I was told that previous links/data/etc relating to the old individual belediyesis had not/could not be updated, and therefore must pay in person....

Re: Girne Council Tax
Doesn't work for me; EVERY month since October 2020 has shown just 18.34TL for water/su until the last couple of months, changing to 33.81TL which matches with the amount on the bill I've shown - every month I've paid 18.34TL and balance has returned to zero! (At the tine of last visit water used was paid in advance on smart card/meter, now scrapped, but no water used for the last four years.)
So went to the belediyesi a week ago with the bill to ask what Diger Borç (148.68TL) was - "various other monthly services" - if I paid 144.93TL(??), I would be up to date.
I paid.
But what about the last three years? Currently on Paypoint, Emlak outstanding zero, Water/Su outstanding zero......
I've just found (in the communal meter cupboard!) several paper bills from 2020/21 which list Sağlik Resmi 8.34TL and Temizlik 10TL, which match 18.34TL as regularly appearing on paypoint (and being paid). But also, "Diger Borç" for 110-120TL is shown on each bill - but I've never seen it on paypoint, and I've not paid it. So.....??

Re: Girne Council Tax
Could it be garden rubbish collection? It used to be on a seperate system and sometimes took months to hit the bill. It seems to be more up to date now so maybe if you were in credit the charge was covered and therefore there is nothing owing?
Are you in CG? If so the garden rubbish is split between the properties I believe. I pay the bills for a friend there and often find what is owing on paypoint differs from the paper bill (sometimes more sometimes less). I wouldn't worry about it.

Re: Girne Council Tax
J&J, thanks for that; makes a lot more sense as I/we are in CG (bought in 2015 after reading Cyprus44 and holidaying in 2013/2014), and following advice from a friend made there, I probably paid and got well in credit.
I COULD argue that being upstairs, I don't have a garden (rubbish)
but I happily accept it doesn't work that way, so no problems (although there are a couple of dilatory contributors to charges...)
Anyway, many thanks for your illuminating explanation.
