Dear members hope everyone is well and safe. We have a holiday home in Alagadi Girne and would like to have our downstairs marble floor repaired. Does anyone know or have a contact whom we could call for a quote . The flooring is becoming to crumble with bits coming off the surface so I would imagine the holes to be filled ? We did try calling Stone Doctor in Girne left several messages with them to call us back to come and see and give us a quote however they have not returned any of our messages. Deniz

Thank you tutor4u for your replies much appreciated. As mentioned I have contacted Stone Doctor. They answered the call said they would call us back then did not. I have also sent them a email message and WhatsApp message no prevail . I have just now contacted cyprusmarble via a completed form and wait to hear back

We had our dining room done due to crumbling marble and holes. We went in to see Girne Cyprus Marble and they contacted a ''man'' for us. They also checked on his works whilst he was doing the floor. The man came and ''stone'' ground the whole floor to remove old polish etc then he put down a filler where required then he did a final polish. A great improvement. The down side, for anybody doing it, is, if the holes are very shallow then it is not deep enough for a good bedding so over the years of hoovering etc some of the shallow holes filler comes out. The whole job took approx 4-5 days. It was messy and noisy. However we were pleased with the outcome. No point in giving you a price as things have doubled/trebled since then.

Your far better off to tile over. It is not marble it is travertine. If you want advice and quotes www.braceybuilders.com its free and we have done many. Can give references

Our travertine floor was in a dreadful state with chipping to the edges of tiles and holes on most of them. I got some epoxy treatment from Ersem yapi, Lapta and some I used grout to fill. The grout filled ones fared better than the epoxy ones probably because it is more flexible but didn't last long. Better to do as gates advised, bite the bullet and tile over in ceramic.

The £6 or 700 pounds would be best put towards a new tiled floor. You pick the colour style and get a nice new look you can be proud of. One time mess. Done for good

Most of marble looking floors are Travertine

We had our travertine floors cleaned and polished. Scratch’s removed looked as good as new.

Have a look at the marble-effect tiles in the Cağra shop right by the roundabout opposite Upper Crust in Karakum.
