According to the KTÖS teachers' union, the percentage of pupils with little or no Turkish is particularly high in the Iskele region, where today three primary schools were shut because of striking teachers. The unions are requesting special classes, orientation programs and entrance tests in Turkish to determine where such pupils can be placed.
