I was surprised to read that Debenhams Ledra Street is closing a sign of the times I suppose.

Out of town shopping malls destroy the traditional high street everywhere, but is that good or bad?

I thought it was the one in Makarios Avenue that was closing?

Friday's Cyprus Mail only mentions the closure of the Debenhams store in the middle of Makarios Avenue - it would seem the other Debenhams on Makarios and the one on Ledra are continuing as normal.

Is the one on Ledra just a five minute walk from the border or am I confused too. The one I remember has the butchers shop in the basement - it would be great if that one was staying open so that I can walk through.
