Very Strange Object in the Skyl

Firstly, let me set out my credentials. I am a former RAF/Civil Pilot. I retired in 2001 having flown some 15000 hours over a career spanning 40 years. I am deeply sceptical about UFO’s and aliens from space ! However my wife and I have just seen something above us which defies a rational explanation. We had gone out of our villa in Kayalar on to the patio to check that our automatic watering system (due to switch on at 10pm) was functioning correctly. In the sky, by the plough was something that looked like railway carriages all lit up. It was moving in an easterly direction and there was no discernible noise. We watched it moving for about a minute and then it gradually faded away. It was pretty well impossible to establish it’s height.

I wonder if anybody saw this. Please get in touch if you did.

I spoke to one of my daughters who has told me that what I saw was Elon Musk’s “ Starlink”. Certainly from the images thrown up by Google that seems to be what we saw. I had no idea that it’s purpose is to provide high speed internet and that Cyprus is now online.

We saw it too, looked like a vapour stream at first, then we could see it was a string/train of satellites.

Yes I saw it to. It just looked like a long straight line of stars moving through the sky

If you Google ‘Find Starlink’ you will be able to see timings for when is the best time to view Starlink.

This coming Wednesday evening, at approx 2055, should be a spectacular viewing (for 5 mins). Look Northwest to Southeast (from Kyrenia area).
