Had my SX4 in metallic blue re sprayed - baked on - last year and that was £1500 then, including some minor body damage repair, all done to a very good standard and was happy with who’ve. Some very minor bits could have been better but all in all good! No over sprays around lights etc as they were all removed before work done. I think if you are being quoted the same price now you will be lucky!

Gates the man who painted the car didnt say that because I dont speak Turkish and he doesn't speak english .The man who recomended him a very good and knowlageable friend said that total respray meant removing seats door trims etc in the TRNC unfortunatly he is no longer with us
The paiter I recomending matched the pannels well and did an excellent job for what is now the cost of a good meal for 3

Unfortunately a total respray by a professional does mean stripping down the car as this is the correct way of a full body respray.
so whoever said this is correct.

I am not on some personal vendetta here but I have had 3 vehicles complete re spray and pass a small spray shop each day and never seen them remove any parts. In a lot of cases I would think it is an impossible job . Perhaps that bloke does i don’t know

I personally would never allow painters to spray my car without having panels being removed, in order to do a proper job

Quite a few panels on older cars are spot welded so the damage it causes would be massive and probably lead to new panels.

To respray a car to a good standard all non painted parts need removing.
