Has anyone recently transferred Sterling from the sale of a property to the U.K. If so which bank gave the best rate of charges.

Just for info….this is the latest from Nat West Bank, hopefully the rest of the banks will not follow.

I asked credit west and they told it has to go to an intermediate bank in Turkey and forwarded to my UK bank,if the sum is £200,000 the intermediate bank charge £4 in the £1000 that sounds fine but on the sum from a house sale it will be over £8000 which is crazy so be aware

You may want to check your maths. 200 X4 is 800.

£4 in £1000 is 0.4%, you have worked it out as 4% eg £4 every £100

Enjoying the sun is correct. It's 0.4 .. so my maths are ok . However .£800 seems pricey. I would try other banks .they may have a lower ceiling on what they charge.
