We have a gardener/handyman once a week. He keeps the garden tidy (Hedges, paths, planting etc etc.) I pay him £10 or Lira equivalent for 2 hours.

Same gardener for over 10 yers. He uses all my tools and equipment except for a leaf rake he carries on his motorcycle.. was recently paying him £5 per hour for 4hours work summer and winter..He claims new customers are paying £6 or £7 per hour. By mutual agreement I have increased his rate to £25 for a four hour shift but have informed him that he will no longer get regular weekly work in the winter.

Don't forget they may have to travel to you and incur travel costs. Would you work in this heat for say £6...at present we don't need gardener but min should be around £8

What's this about traveling? He does the house down the road then me then to two customers in the village. He fits people in when it suits him. If anyone thinks he travels a distance to do two hours of work.

If your gardener was working for a company he would have a salary, work permit etc and paid a lot less than being quoted. £5 to £6 an hour is good money for here especially if skill is not really required and no responsibility. If they are a legal company provide tools etc the rate would be higher

Minimum wage is c 1560 tl net 45 % of the population are on that . There are thousands of African students who will work for 600 tl per day as .. I know because they work in the hotels for that as extras ...most of them are from good homes to ...depends if you need skilled labour or not .
1000 tl per day is a good wage for manual labour .that's 25000 tl per month . That's a good job over here .
No idea why some are paying in £ . All salaries are in TL. It's not the UK. Your making a rod for your own back .it's only the British who pay people in £..
