I am sure someone will have the answer to the question.
What is the easiest way to pay a car dealer for a car in sterling,?. Say £10/£12 K
from the UK?
is there any easy way?

It really depends on which banks are used, as it can be a lot more than £30. I think it's cheaper if it arrives at a Turkish, rather than local bank here.
If you are here, the cheapest method I have found is using Western Union via Post Office online, and picking it up at a branch of Iktisat bank. Costs £1.90 for up to £8000 now I think. Not used the service for a while, so you'd have to do your own research.

I used Garanti several years ago. When I questioned the cost - next time I’ll waive the charges . Needless’y to say, there hasn’t been a next time

Now it says through PO link you can transfer up to £8000 for £1.90
If you go straight through Western Union it's only £4000. I guess you can only try it out and see. I think the first transaction with them is free, but then £4.90 charge, so maybe freebie with Western Union first and 2nd transfer through PO if you need £10000-12000
You'll have to register with Western Union.
You then have to make an appointment with Iktisat bank for pick up, and take your passport and transaction no. issued by Western Union.

It sounds a bit of a faff, but it's really easy. Hope that all helps a bit.

Pay on your bank debit card.
I've literally just got off the phone transferring £12k to a car dealer here & at the end of the conversation the bloke said 'why didn't you do this on your card!!'
Could've saved me half an hour of inane questions & £20 in fees.

If you are with hsbc, they have a global card account which is great. We bought a car earlier in the year, transferred all the money, sterling to the dealers bank account no charges at all, took a couple of days. It works a bit like revolut and wise, good exchange rates, no charge.

Aha, so if I use my Halifax card but are paying in sterling for goods, no charge!! Probably more protection as well

If it's a Halifax Clarity card you should be fine. I know my ordinary Halifax and Bank of Scotland debit cards charge a bit, but can't remember how much, been a very long time since I've used them, having better cards to use here now.

Check on paying in £ on both Starling and Revolut cards abroad. I'd hate to say you wouldn't be charged when I don't know. I've got both, but only pay in TL here.
