Just looking at the tourist stats . Trnc expects c 2 million tourists this year whilst Cyprus is c 4 million.
That's some going for the trnc given its embargoed and you can't fly here direct !
Cheap flights direct to ercan could dramatically increase that ..do we want that many tourists country is full enough already !
Only joking really I would welcome direct flights for the local business etc .
Interestingly it's 1 billion revenue per 1 million tourists .

Is there not enough Russians invading the island without more tourists, and with prices going through the roof the TRNC is no longer an attractive place to come to.
Look forward to the replies.....

There will never be direct flights to a Country which is not recognised. The only option would be one Banana republic (Russia) to another (TRNC) . Not sure if even more Russians would be a great thing though.

They should not be let into the country while the war in Ukraine continues.

Never is a BIG word in politics and direct flights to a country that is not recognised happens all the time - Case in point is Taiwan! Of the 13 countries that do recognise Taiwan, none of them are in a position to be able to force recognition of Taiwan as a country. Interestingly, Great Britain is one of the many countries that do not recognise Taiwan and is also one of many countries that allows direct flights to it. So what happened to NEVER?

It seems that the decision about the TRNC and direct flights, like many other decisions about this country rest with the UN and nobody else.

Dream on Waddo if you think there will be direct flights.

The UK doesn’t recognise TRNC hence no direct flights.

No! I do not believe there will ever be direct flights from the UK to the TRNC, at least not whilst the current UK Government is in power and whilst the UN looks upon the many mistakes they have made with their blinkered vision.
My point was simple - you said and I quote - "There will never be direct flights to a Country which is not recognised." - I was merely pointing out that there are already direct flights happening to countries that are not "Internationally Recognised", in case you had missed that small point.
So, apart from the UN being the major reason why direct flights to this country can not happen there is really nothing to stop them. Whether they do happen or not is beyond my concern as there are many "indirect Flights" to all other countries available already.
