Had a water leak which was not visible. The main water pipe to my underground tank snapped, the water was filling tank but half of it was spilling into the ground. Constant for 2 months. I did not get a bill in August, but when one was received in September it came to 12,800tl. Went to local belediye to enquire only to be presented with the bill to pay.....like it was nothing out of the blue. Paid, then investigated and found leak.

Hard lesson learned.

We are so grateful we are on a pre-paid meter. When our credit is spent the water stops until more credit is purchased. The day will come when the electronic element of the meter fails and we join those who are presented with a monthly bill. Until that day comes l count our blessings.

Smart meter kept on breaking down and each time I lost my credit. Hence, the change over to old style meter.

That’s a right bummer. Yes the prepaid meters do keep stopping call Belada for a week finally come sort 3 weeks later again. I also noticed that the credit goes i went and said about it once and they somehow put it back on so shows something afoot
