Change of vehicle ownership procedure

Anyone with latest information of what is required to do this? Can it be done in Girne? I know it can be done in Lefcosia and Guzelyurt.Do both buyer and seller need to be present? Are passports or copies needed? Transfer document I know needs to be filled in. Can you get that at the office, whichever it is? Obviously vehicle registration document required, but hoping no mukhtar letter or stamps needed?

Hi Sultan did this last year no letter required went with existing owner with his old log book to Iskele presented all docs insurance tax mot passport of old owner and mine along with my wife’s passport as we wanted to be joint owners paid a transfer fee I think it was 800tl at that time was given a new log book there and then all done Iskele office was better for us because it wasn’t very busy hope this helps

I've always done it in Girne Motor Tax dept. I find it easier rather than mess around being reliant on the other person to come to the tax office , just to go with the seller/ buyer to your solicitor and get a power of attorney.

One tip, if your going to motor the tax office , best to get there about 6.30 AM to get your spot on the list.
