I enquired in one place in Kyrenia about repairing my 1-800 - 2,000 year old Bronze Roman Seal Ring and the chap seemed confident. Don't know the name of the place or road, but if you know the road where Tayfun has his Mosaic Lamp and Kilim Rug shops, it's on the opposite side near the top just before the cross roads. Big double fronted shop with clinically clean White shelving in the windows.

I know there lots of shops in Girne but want one that does good repairs. The shop used before as you walk down the cobblestone to the still unused harbour seems shut up now is that the case

Ah, I was going to recommend that one Gates. Unfortunately I have no idea if it's open or not, haven't been down that way for a very long time.

Gates - Senak Gold & Diamonds is the name of the shop - 0533 830 22 22.
It's run by Huseyin and his wife Gulesen (although I think the wife and their daughters have been running the show over the last few years).
Always had nice rings and jewellery from them at fairly reasonable prices.
Officially the opening hours are 9 - 5 Mon to Sat but that's never been a hard and fast rule with Huseyin - one day I'd be in the Harbour, he was closed, the next day he was open and often if we had the time to linger around on the harbour front we'd see him tootling through on his moped and opening the shop! I would imagine that the Harbour works would also have had an impact on his passing trade!

Hope this helps.

Huseyin at Senak is excellent. As far as I know he is still trading, but not been for a few months. He sometimes keeps the door locked so you may need to ring the bell. Sadly, their daughter Buse passed away a while ago, so young, such a shame.

I would also recommend Mehmet Yaygin. I've had a number of items made by him and he has also repaired other's work for me. Speaks perfect English.
