Electricity tariffs increased by 7 percent
KIB-TEK increased electricity tariffs by 7 percent, effective as of December 1, 2023.

Cyprus Turkish Electricity Authority (Kıb-Tek) announced a 7 percent increase in both single-stroke and three-stroke tariffs. New tariff fees will be valid from tomorrow.

According to the tariff table shared by the institution, while there is no increase in the "poor exemption" housing tariff; Prices increased in single and 3-stroke residential, commercial, industrial, tourism, water engines, street lights, defense, government offices, foundations, universities and casinos tariffs.

Accordingly, in single-time tariff, 0-250 kWs residential tariff increased from 2.5199 TL to 2.6963 TL; 251-500 kWs residential tariff increased from 5.1986 TL to 5.5625 TL; 501-750 kWs residential tariff increased from 5.5897 TL to 5.9810 TL; 751-1000 kWh residential tariff increased from 6.0590 TL to 6.4831 TL, and over 1000 kWh from 7.2321 TL to 7.7383 TL. In the single-time tariff, the government offices tariff increased from 17.1448 TL to 17.5963 TL; The universities tariff increased from 5.1986 TL to 5.5625 TL and the casinos tariff increased from 6.4498 TL to 6.9013 TL.

In the three-time residential tariff, the fees increase from 7.1919 TL to 7.6952 TL during peak hours (between 17.00 and 22.00); It increased from 5.1987 TL to 5.5625 TL during normal hours (between 07.00 - 17.00) and from 3.4270 TL to 3.6668 TL during off-peak hours (between 22.00 - 07.00).

Electricity prices were increased by 15 percent last month.

They initially wanted to increase last month by 30% but reduced this to 15%. So, looks like this coming month there is 7% increase.........maybe another 7% net month?????

I read on Yeniduzen this morning another increase will come in January so 7% this month and I guess 7% next month means they will almost be back at the 30% increase they were denied.... Cunning eh
