Well depends where you go, our kids family went to the Lake district last year, in a nice pub the beer was £5.50!!!!!

Yeah, and £10 a pint at a Christmas Fayre!

Outside the main Cities in the UK prices are around £4 on average for a pint these days

My point was they are purchased at 40 TL or less and selling for 140tl. Why is the disparity between selling and buying so much bigger than a carlsberg for instance.

It’s a great point Susie,I’ve wondered that myself. Certainly the boxes of Strongbow don’t last long in Supreme!! Maybe the bars all buy them ?

I assume it's because of their outgoings, maybe in a different currency too but I know I rather have 10 customers drinking at 100tl than 1 at 140tl.

For price conscious cider drinkers, Shah have Thatchers Haze & Sweet 440ml tins reduced to 25tl, short shelf life left.

Ha ha - I've never even looked at a 'Best Before' date on alcohol...

...although I'm pretty sure that none has ever lasted long enough to go out of date!

Edit: I just did a sweep, & am currently diligently employed ensuring that this terrible scenario does not occur

That's a very personal question!

I agree about the excessive markup, it's the same with Guiness and John Smiths etc. in most places compared with standard beers.

I think cider was under £3 in Weatherspoons the other day, not a cider drinker myself so not certain.....I was drinking Worthington's at £1.90 a pint. I know it adds nothing to the issue at hand - just thought I'd mention it

I did pay 180tl for a small Carlsberg recently at Cratos - never again hopefully!!

Alktinkya hotel provides a lovely log fire in a cosy lounge just off the foyer and it was 85tl for a Carlsberg 50cl. if you fancy somewhere different.

35tl for pint of draught Efes at sea angle Catalkoy. Surely best value beer in TRNC !!

I guess the £4.20 I just paid for 1/2 pint at The Compass Ale House in Gravesend, Kent, puts all this into perspective. To be fair, it was a) in the UK and b) a decent DIPA Craft Ale from Northern Monk brewery, "The Prodigal Son" at 8.2%.
