I think our well pump has packed in, can anyone please tell me who sells them and approx cost, cheers.

A 1HP one was about 250 Euros a year ago from Press Teknik in Alsancak.

That's probably more than adequate for normal domestic use including Garden, Pool etc.

Might also depend on how deep the well is - i.e. the height that the water needs to be pumped up to reach the surface...

Keith, our well pump is 40 mtrs down the hole in the ground - deep well! Twice in the last 15 years the capacitor that turns the pump on has failed and I thought it was the pump the first time, apparently it is a common fault with a deep well! Maybe this could be Mollie's fault before she shells out loads of dosh on a new pump it is worth a try!

Thanks guys, thats really good information. I filled up the balance tank two days ago, it took about 90 minutes, I didnt realise the pump had gone off until to late! Its happened before when the well went dry, but the last time it happened the pump was fine, a guy we know is calling next week to look at it.

Why not take it to Press Teknik in Alsancak for repair/

Thanks, I may do that, I am hopeless at this stuff however, the guy I know who does know is coming Monday.

If you need a 2nd opinion, the Press Teknik guy will come out to look at it anyway.
