Alsancak, Lapta,Camlibel belidere declared that no cardboard, garden waste and building rubbish will be allowed in to house bin collections.
If identified that you put any of the above, your bin will be taped up and they will apply for a 27,000 + Tl fine.
Details on their web site.

I reported a company of fly tipping (photographed the lorry) a week ago, took details to Alsancak, photo and vehicle reg were then passed on Sabita. Not sure what happened then but they haven't been back. However it hasn't been removed either. (over the side into a ravine)

Forgot to say, officially it has always been illegal to dump as you describe into your bins. Go down to Belediye with photo of what you have and where it is and eventually they will come and collect it. Eventually, you will receive a bill or it will be added to you water/refuse monthly bill. Cardboard is recyclable.

Yes it is, but there is no recycling collection and not everyone has a car to take it to a recycling facility (is there such a thing in North Cyprus?)

Ive recently seen LAC lorries with grabbers on the back, picking what appears like fly tipping on the side of the road. Where they eventually take it I have no idea, nor who pays for its collection.

Yes there is a facility provided by Şah Marketplace in Catalkoy (plastic, paper and metal, BUT NO GLASS).

Laptawrinkly. last week I was bemoaning the fact that Sah don't take glass and the guy on the other side of the "fence" said that if you put a bag of glass down on the pavement and tell him its there, he would come round and pick it up. Obviously it would mean you have to be lucky for him to be there at the same time.

Is there a municipal waste tip that residents can take their garden waste etc. to?
